Attendance
|
Students are expected to attend every class. In class
participation will be a portion of your Discussion grade. If you
aren't there, you can't participate! Missed class discussion and
quizzes (without prior approval) will be assigned a grade of zero. (See
section below on Class Attendance.)
|
|
|
Grading Guidelines
|
|
Scales
|
Exams & Projects – 100 point; Assignments – 20 points; Quizzes –
10 points
|
|
Assignments
|
All written work must be typed. Include your name on the top of all
submitted work. This is a class utilizing computers, therefore, all your
work product will be expected to be error free and professionally
presented using the software we are studying. If not, your grade will
suffer accordingly!
|
|
Late Penalties
|
Turn your work in late (meaning after the instructor calls for it at
the beginning of class, will result in points taken off. The later you
are the worse the penalty. Assignments submitted by email or server will
be assessed based upon the date/time stamp on the file. The degree of
penalty and the ultimate acceptance of late work is subject to the
instructor.
|
|
Behavior Guidelines
|
· Don't cheat.
Cheating is looking on another student's work during a test or quiz,
obtaining unauthorized help or plagiarizing another's work on an
assignment. Cheating will cause you to Fail the subject work and possibly
the entire class!
· Arrive to class on
time. This course is to aid in your development of skills you
will need when you are employed in a professional capacity, therefore:
· Sleeping:
How long do you think you'll last in that job you been waiting for if you
sleep through your boss's meeting? Get a good night's rest before
class.
· Side
conversations: If you have a question, raise your hand and
share it with all of us. Others may have the same question but are too
shy to ask. Side conversations make it hard for your classmates to hear
and learn and will make me mad. That is not a good thing for you to do.
|
|
Class Attendance
|
Much of the understanding of the fundamentals of Electronic Bussiness
will come for class interaction. Attendance will be tracked and is part
of your discussion grade. I urge you to come to class regularly, if you
don't, your ability to pass the tests and perform the projects will be
severely limited. No makeup quizzes will be given. Exams are scheduled
and must not be missed. If a student misses an exam with a legitimate
excuse* the instructor will handle on case by case basis. *Legitimate
Excuses are Due to illness, death, and special circumstances. These will
be determined by:
1. Notifying the instructor in a
timely manner PRIOR to the event.
2. Submission to the instructor of
acceptable documentation of the absence.
3. A determination by the instructor
that the absence was excused.
Govern Yourself
Accordingly!
|
|
Group projects
|
Group assignments are established for several reasons. I want you to
learn interpersonal skills and develop team strategies and understanding.
All members of the group are expected to participate equally. Grades will
suffer if the group is dysfunctional. All group members are expected to
participate equally in the assignment of the group. No "free
riders" are permitted.
